About Central Maine Motors Auto Group

Proudly Serving Maine Since 1935

In 1935, Charles Gaunce, Jr. and two associates incorporated their auto dealerships to create Central Maine Motors. Little did they know that more than 75 years later, the seeds they had planted at 198 College Avenue in Waterville, Maine, would grow and blossom into a thriving auto group with three separate Maine auto dealerships offering vehicles from Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Toyota, Scion, Chevrolet and Buick.

Starting off selling Cadillac, LaSalle and Pontiac vehicles, Central Maine Motors took off in the early ’90s. In 1991 Dodge and Toyota joined the family, followed by Chrysler and Plymouth the following year. In 1994 Buick, Oldsmobile and GMC were added to the group before Jeep and Chevrolet were added in 1997 and 1998, respectively. Through all these changes, including adding new buildings and renovating existing properties to better serve the community, Central Maine Motors Auto Group maintained its focus on personal relationships.

With employees who have been with the company for more than 30 years and a history that stretches back for decades, Central Maine Motors Auto Group has become a pillar of the community. Though the going hasn’t always been easy, Central Maine Motors Auto Group’s focus on customer service has seen them through thick and thin, and while others have failed, they have flourished.

If you’ve been looking for a dealership that knows what it is to put the customer first, stop by any one of our Central Maine Motors Auto Group dealerships on Kennedy Memorial Drive and Airport Road in Waterville.
