The team at our Natick, MA, Chrysler dealership never gets tired of seeing cool cars, even if we can’t drive them ourselves. That’s why we’re excited to hear that gearheads, gamers and performance car admirers alike will see a custom Fiat Chrysler creation in exquisite detail very soon… in virtual reality. Gran Turismo 6, a video game exclusive to the Playstation 3, will give players the chance to step behind the wheel of the SRT Tomahawk Vision Gran Turismo.
Crafted by the design and SRT engineering departments in tandem, this SRT supercar is full of cutting-edge ideas that modern-day racing cars can only dream of. Plus, given the famed realism of the Gran Turismo graphics engine, we’re sure this car will be just as much of a treat to look at as it is to drive.
The Tomahawk was designed with a vicious 7-liter V10 engine and a bank angle of 144 degrees. It sports an air suspension system driven by a pneumatic power unit that also controls the front wheels and the G suit the driver wears. Aero panels found throughout the Tomahawk’s body produce downforce and yaw control when banking around corners. The car even has a unique active camber system for better traction during high-speed turns. Ultimately, this vehicle was so revolutionary that the Gran Turismo developers had to develop a new physics engine just to properly add it to the game!
PS3 owners will have the chance to take this beast for a spin after downloading a free update set to release this summer. We’re sure it will be a blast to burn rubber behind the wheel of the SRT Tomahawk Vision Gran Turismo… but oh, what we wouldn’t give to drive one in real life!
